Purlins
Purlins

Pioneers in the industry, we offer mild steel purlin, galvanized c purlins, 3 mm c purlin, module mounting structures and roof mounted solar structure from India.
Purlins are manufactured using cold-roll forming technology, which shapes thin steel sheets into C or Z profiles. This process uses a series of rolling stands to gradually form the metal strip after it has been uncoiled, levelled, and pre-cut. Online punching occurs after the forming stage to create holes for fasteners, and the final products are strong, lightweight, and require less on-site modification due to their precise dimensions.

Manufacturing process overview
Uncoiling: The process begins with a hydraulic decoiler that unwinds large coils of steel.
Leveling and pre-cutting: The steel strip is then fed through a leveling unit to remove any imperfections before being pre-cut to a basic length.
Roll forming: The material enters a roll forming machine with multiple rolling stands. Each stand progressively shapes the steel strip into the desired C or Z profile.
Online punching: After the profile is formed, an inline punching station uses hydraulic cylinders to create pre-punched holes for fasteners, which reduces the need for drilling at the construction site.
Adjusting and final cutting: The purlin's profile is adjusted to ensure accuracy. The finished purlin is then cut to the final custom length.
Key aspects of purlin manufacturing
Materials: Purlins are made from hot-rolled (HR), cold-rolled (CR), galvanized (GP), or galvalume (GL) steel.
Technology: Cold roll forming is the primary manufacturing technique because it is efficient and allows for high-precision, consistent dimensions.
Customization: Manufacturers can customize the purlin's length and create pre-punched holes to meet specific project needs, leading to faster installation and less waste.
Quality control: Reputable manufacturers ensure compliance with industry standards like IS codes, which helps guarantee the structural integrity of the purlins.
Specifications
LCP C & Z Purlins and LCP Girts are manufactured from G240 MPa, G345 MPa Steel ranging from 1.6mm thick to 3.15mm thick) with a minimum Z120 galvanized coating (120g/m2) and a maximum of Z275 galvanized coating (275g/m2). All purlins and girts shall be LCP C & Z Purlin sections, supported by submission of effective section properties, purlin capacity calculations and a performance warranty, produced and detailed for this project.
All cold-formed sections conforming to AS 1397 (or equivalent), with zinc coating from Z120 (120g/ m2) to zinc coating of Z275 (275g/ m2) having a minimum yield strength of 240 MPa to maximum yield strength of 345 MPa. All sections should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions with particular regard to bolt locations on both web and flanges and lap sizes of 15% span. For more information on appropriate purlin section and other coatings, please contact LCP Building Products Pvt. Ltd., Technical Department.
Direct contact between galvanized LCP C & Z Purlin with other dissimilar material, for example copper pipe (bi-metallic corrosion) or treated timber (chemical corrosion) must be avoided to prevent premature corrosion.
